TRAVEL INSURANCE
Covers you, your family and your belongings on your overseas holiday.
Our travel insurance plans offer comprehensive benefits even before you set off, with protection that lasts until after you return home.
What if you’re travelling with pre-existing conditions? Here’s what you need to know:
- A pre-existing medical condition is one that you already had in the 12 months or more before the start of your trip. An example would be an asthma condition you’ve had since young.
- Eczema, gout, epilepsy, asthma, and high blood pressure are all considered pre-existing conditions. Most travel insurance policies don’t provide a payout for this. So yes, you could have an attack but not be covered by your travel insurance to see a doctor. That’s probably not the vacation you have in mind.
Focus on picking a travel insurance plan that can cover your medical needs first, the other details are secondary. You can have an option to cover your pre-existing conditions, which covers hospitalisation charges, medical evacuation, and emergency phone charges.
